Students Return Library Books: A short reminder to all students/parents that the last day for students to have their library books turned in will be Friday, June 1st. The first three classes that have ALL books returned and ALL fines paid will be having a celebration in the library. When all books are returned, we will be starting inventory and need all books back on the shelves in order to do that. Thank you for helping us remind your student.
Forest Ridge Summer Library Hours: Mrs. Robinett will be running a summer library book check-out for Forest Ridge students beginning on Wednesday, June 20th and continuing June 27th, July 11, July 18th, July 25th and August 1st between the hours of 10am-11am. Students will need to be accompanied by a parent or babysitter in order to attend. Each student will be able to check out two books and each parent will be able to check out five books for one week. We hope that our Forest Ridge parents will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to keep a variety of books in your children's hands all summer.

Dear Parents,
Just a quick reminder to let you know that most all of the books purchased for the Parent Lending Library are now ready for check out! These books are located in the library on the end of the first row in the wooden bookshelf. These books range from "Best Kind of Different" (Our Family's Journey with Asperger's Syndrome), "Bringing Math Home," "Love & Logic: More Ideas About Parenting With Less Stress," "Siblings Without Rivalry," to " Your Child's Writing Life" to name a few... Stop by and check them out!
Spring Vacation Reading Minutes:
Remember to have your student fill out their reading minutes form for spring vacation and turn it in to the library with your signature and total minutes, by Friday, April 6th for a reward. Thanks to the generosity of the Parent Club, we were able to purchase reading rewards, such as book marks, "reading" pencils, "reading" water bottles, "reading" bracelets and books as a reward for minutes/hours read.
"The more you read, the better you read, so Read, Read, Read!!"

Battle of the Books
Once again Forest Ridge will be giving fourth and fifth graders the opportunity to participate in Battle of the Books. However, only students from Forest Ridge will be battling among one another this year. Teams will be made up of 4 students, from 4th through 5th grade. Each team will select a captain. Team members will need to memorize titles, authors, and genre of the books they read exactly as published on the permission form. Questions asked will also include content. Battles will take place during lunch or recess time. Parents are welcome to attend battles. The winning team members' names will be engraved on a plaque in the library. Students that were interested received permission slips yesterday. Please make sure to return these by Wednesday, February 1!

Christmas Break Reading
Dear Parents,
Before Winter Break we will be sending home a flyer with your students describing the opportunity to win prizes in the library for reading during this time. In order to win prizes, each student must fill out a piece of paper following the directions on the flyer. The paper should include dates read, title of books, minutes read and TOTAL minutes read. This paper should be returned TO THE LIBRARY with a parent signature. This will be different than their RAH folders. To be eligible, they must keep track of this information on a separate piece of paper and turn it in to the library during the FIRST week back from vacation(Jan.3-6th). Please encourage your students to read over Winter Break!!
Happy Holidays!
